Young Adults Learned Embedded DevOps with Bittle X Robot Dog

In this article, we will take a look at an Embedded DevOps workshop conducted by GitLab, for Tech Impact's IT Works bootcamp program.  The program targets young adults (aged 18–26) from underserved communities, helping them gain the skills and experience for entry-level IT jobs through training and internships. The bootcamp was held as part of their DE cohort in Wilmington this summer, where Darwin Sanoy (Chief Cloud Architect at GitLab) and his brilliant team developed with our Bittle X robot dog to showcase the ease of using the GitLab CI Loop while coding.

During the workshop, using the Petoi Bittle X smart robot, attendees practiced robot dog coding, learned to detect and fix a limping gait, and then redeployed the fix entirely through GitLab's CI pipeline to Bittle X. The GitLab Embedded DevOps Workshop can be done self-paced to help you learn about what GitLab can do for Embedded.  All in all, this effort aligns with Tech Impact’s mission to boost economic mobility through hands-on, future-ready STEM education.
If you want to learn more about learning at your own pace with the free GitLab Embedded DevOps Workshop, the power of Embedded DevOps, or have any questions about the workshop, you can check Darwin’s LinkedIn post.

The last time we covered Darwin, he and his team were at the 2025 Embedded World Exhibition & Conference in Nuremberg, showcasing an amazing Embedded DevOps demo using Bittle X.

As always, we thank Darwin for choosing Bittle X as the robot of choice for the workshops, and we're looking forward to hearing from him again soon. Want to read more such stories from GitLab and Petoi?
